We used Al's for our wedding cake & cupcakes and we were not disappointed! We got the most bang for our buck and the cake and cupcakes were delicious.
Amazing staff, so helpful and always wondering if you need help. Coming from a new mom that is wonderful! Great sales. Great bakery and wine and beer selection. I'll shop here over Walmart anyday! Family oriented grocery store! Love they make u feel so welcoming!
Stopped by here while on vacation for a beer / alcohol run. Lots of selection of craft beer etc. I bought extra to take back home to share with friends, as there was beer here that I cannot get in St. Louis. If memory serves, I had a Neapolitan stout (bit odd), an IPA, and various other booze. I remember having fun when my parents took me here as a kid.
I have been in and out of Al's 100's of times, the service I get is great the folks remember me and for the most part are very professional, except this last time I went in. I had a dual experience, 1 very awesome employee, and 1 horrible. The best was a young lady in the produce dept. Samantha, she was very mannerly very professional, and most of all knowledgable of the store what's in it and where it was. She helped me and my Dad with almost our whole list. ..... Then we come to the Terror of Al's, this guy in a white shirt cut me and my Dad of with a damn knife in his hand just to beat us to the butcher so he could be there ahead of us to see if he could have them sharpen his knife! WTF I didn't say a word which is just as well, I had a great experience not just 3 minutes ago, and blew this off as he really needed to cut something!
This is specific to the bakery and custom cakes - I ordered a spongebob cake for my friend (since shes turning 25 - if you get it you get it) and was initially told that i couldnt get the actual image printed on the cake cause it was too small and i needed to order it through another company. I was 100% okay with this and having a hand piped SpongeBob and Patrick, but they went above and beyond and got the grqphic printed on the cake anyways!!!! It was a fantastic surprise, and the cake was a hit. So thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! Their cakes are always super amazing, but this time - they really took the cake :)
